When Slash revealed he and Axl Rose are on speaking terms a few weeks ago, the rumor mill went crazy, us included. Then, last week the rumors went into high gear withs news that an official reunion announcement is only days away.
Today's rumor is not as exciting.
According to the Pulse of Radio, via Blabbermouth, the reunion tour would not feature all of the original members… there will be no Izzy Stradlin (who is quite the recluse) or drummer Steven Adler (whose entire life has been leading up to this disappointment) or even drummer Matt Sorum. The reunion will only be Axl Rose, Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.
As for who would round out the band… it would be current GNR guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer as well as long-time keyboardist Dizzy Reed.
While I'm sure the person most disappointed by this news is Steven Adler, I feel like for longtime GNR fans, the reunion of Axl and Slash is likely all that matters. Izzy would've been nice too, but Axl probably would rather keep that portion of the cash.
Anyway, this is all just one big rumor and we should believe it when we see it. And even then, who knows if it'll even last one show.
