MOTLEY CRUE Teasing Something For Super Bowl Sunday

We've got a pretty good idea what it is.

We've got a pretty good idea what it is.

This is a big year for the retired hair metal icons Motley Crue. They are releasing a major motion picture with Netflix based on their autobiography, The Dirt.

The movie is set to be released on March 22nd. Over the New Year's weekend, Motley Crue offered a curious teaser:

February 3, 2019 is the date of this year's NFL Super Bowl. Based on the #ad hashtag, that would indicate Crue were paid to post this tweet.

I have no idea what the emoji are supposed to mean, but I do know that the Super Bowl is known for two things: football and commercials.

So it wouldn't be a leap to assume that the first trailer for the Crue movie, The Dirt, would appear during the Super Bowl.

If you're curious, Maroon 5 are the scheduled halftime show performance, not Crue, who again, are officially retired.

The cast for The Dirt was announced earlier this year: Rapper Machine Gun Kelly has been cast as drummer Tommy Lee, English actor Douglas Booth has been cast as bassist Nikki Sixx, Daniel Webber (The Punisher) was cast as Vince Neil, and Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) is Mick Mars. There will be an actor portraying Ozzy Osbourne in the movie as well, actor Tony Cavalero.

Crue have been working on new songs with longtime producer Bob Rock, to be released as a companion EP to the movie. The band are also teasing some big surprise on the EP.
