If This MASTODON, OPETH, GHOST Tour Rumor Is True, I'm Going To Jizz Myself

Mastodon-Opeth-Ghost-Tour

This is a rumor I really want to believe. Blabbermouth reported over the weekend that they are hearing that Mastodon, Opeth and Ghost are teaming up for a Spring tour. Holy fucking shit, if that's not a prog metal fans wet dream, I really don't know what is. Maybe if you add TOOL on top of all of this it could be better, but other than that this is a perfect three-bill combo and it just makes sense.

Mastodon and Opeth share a certain portion of their fanbase, but I'm sure there is also a portion of each audience that isn't super familiar with the other, so they can each gain some fans out of this. And, Ghost is just the best fucking appetizer for these hungry fans who will not be able to deny these Satanists' sheer power of their live performance.

So, whomever are the powers that be that make these tours happen, even if this rumor is complete bullshit, please, please, please work on something to make this happen!

In somewhat related news, Mastodon guitarist/vocalist Brent Hinds posted to Instagram that he has broken his foot. I would assume this means it would take at least 6 weeks to heal, which means, this tour may be a few months ago. Or Hinds just won't give a fuck and play with a broken foot.

  1. This wouldn't be the first time he preformed with a broken foot. On Ozzfest 2005 Brent hobbled on and off stage in crutches and limped around on stage in a cast! What a fucking trooper! I hope to Satan this tour happens!!!!

This would indeed be a very memorable and significant tour in the Metal record-books. The Unholy Alliance Tour in 07 was another one where all the bands were headliners in their own right and went together perfect.
