Alex Lifeson Hints At Possible New RUSH Music, Hasn't Heard From Drummer Neil Peart

"He emphatically stated that Rush as an entity is not finished and that, 'we will be doing things together again.'"

Much like Black Sabbath, Rush has also ended its massive touring portion of its career, though has previously stated that Rush is not over as a band. Now in an interview with Sirus XM Radio as reported by Rush Is A Band, guitarist Alex Lifeson has confirmed that Rush will likely do something again in the future, and that he and bassist/vocalist Geddy Lee will be working together in the future.

According to the source, Lifeson never specifically says that all of this is pertinent to Rush, though with Lifeson and Lee working together, we're sure as hell hoping it is.

Alex mentioned that he no longer feels constrained by the album format, and felt that he could release smaller numbers of songs whenever he was ready to, although he didn't give any details on what or when or with whom. He went on to say that he and Geddy would definitely be writing and working together in the near future, but didn't give any specifics on that either …

On a positive note, he emphatically stated that Rush as an entity is not finished and that, "we will be doing things together again", but again – no timetable or specifics.

The only real bummer about this is that Lifeson says he hasn't heard from drummer Neil Peart in a while, though Peart has always been an intensely private person. So it could very well be that Peart is just enjoying being left alone for a little while.

When Alex was asked what Neil Peart was up to he just said, "I haven't heard from Neil in quite a while".

Realistically though, I don't think Rush would put out any new music if it wasn't Lifeson, Lee, and Peart.
