Rob Halford Releasing Christmas Album. WHHHYYYYYY?!?!?
Posted on September 11th, 2009
WHY?? WHY?? WHY??? First Twisted Sister, now Halford? That's unfortunately the case as the JUDAS PRIEST frontman will be releasing Halford III – Winter Songs on his own Metal God Records. The disc will include "a collection of new Halford-penned tracks plus traditional holiday favorites presented with original arrangements by HALFORD". Here are some of the tracks already announced:
- ‘Get Into The Spirit’
- ‘When Christmas Comes For Everyone’
- ‘Light Of The World’
- ‘What Child Is This’
- ”Oh Holy Night’
- ‘Come All Ye Faithful’
UGH!! The only saving grace is that Halford's backing band is full of seriously skilled musicians including Roy Z. on guitar, Metal Mike Chlasciak on guitar, Mike Davis on bass and (one of Frank's favorite drummers) Bobby Jarzombek on drums. So, it might be cool despite it's complete lameness. I guess we'll see at the end of the month when the first single is released (a full 3 months before winter even officially kicks off).
Did Halford not see our AntiChrist-mas special a few years back?

2 horns up
It's just so, out of place. Am confused.
whats with the metal god thing hes got going these days? Halford was great, but the metal god thing takes it a step too far
This reminds me of the Xmas album Twisted Sister put out.
Have yo uheard these songs yet??? They are fucking amazing. They do not at all sound like Christmas songs, at least the two that are releases right now. "get into the spirit" is a heavy upbeat rocking song with classic Halford vocals. Very nicely done and as mentioned above, the band is awesome. One my favorite collection of musicians, just a step below the might Priest. The remake of "we three Kings" is also phenomenal. You would never know it is a Christmas original. The vocal melodies are recognizable but the music and the layout of the song kicks serious ass. It might sound wierd but believe me the arrangement so far will blow you away. If you are a Halford, Fight or Priest fan, so far you will not be disappointed!!!
