QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Frontman Says New Album Is Uptempo, Won't Reveal Release Date

"Where the last thing was about making it through, this record, we’ve made it through the other side and we’re ready to roll."

All we know about the new Queens Of The Stone Age album is that there's supposedly a single coming before July 13, and the band was teasing something called Twenty Five. Not much to go on, though according to frontman and guitarist Josh Homme in an interview with The Rock, he likes it that way. Homme says he won't reveal the release date or album information right now, and would rather just let information leak here and there.

"I think one of the great things about being in a rock n’ roll band is the mystery of it all. And I think we’re just gonna unfurl that in a slow way. It’s gonna be a bit of rock n’ roll hide and seek. So we’re just gonna start letting loose some clues here and there—we’ll have fun gently torturing each other, know what I mean?"

As for the album's content, Homme says it's a little more upbeat. So coupled with the fact that the album won't feature any cameos whatsoever, it sounds like Queens Of The Stone Age is going for something completely new and different in 2017.

"Well I think the new record is more like… We’re sort of like a panther in a tree leaping out of the darkness. I think we feel ready to pounce, everyone is really ready to go. We’re just leaning on the gate waiting for someone to open that sucker up so we can move. And I think the record feels that way too. It feels uptempo and like… Where the last thing was about making it through, this record, we’ve made it through the other side and we’re ready to roll."

More as we find out anything… which according to Homme, won't be much.
