METALLICA Launch Limited Edition Gift Card With Starbucks and Spotify For Charity

Metallica are giving back this year, and you can be a part of the charity goodness. The thrash legends are teaming up with Starbucks as part of the coffee chain's "Give Good" holiday charity campaign.

Starting tomorrow, November 28th, limited edition Metallica gift cards will be available at 8,000 Starbucks locations, with proceeds being donated to Metallica's charity organization, All Within My Hands Foundation. Starbucks is also teaming with Chance the Rapper’s Social Works and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation and will donate a total of 1 million dollars, split between the three causes. The official press release elaborates:

“As we celebrate the launch of our new website for our All Within My Hands foundation today, we’re also excited to announce that in the spirit of the holidays and their “Give Good” campaign Starbucks and Spotify are donating $1 million to be divided between our foundation, Chance the Rapper’s Social Works and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation. To commemorate the partnership, starting tomorrow (Tuesday, November 28th) limited edition gift cards featuring each artist will be available at 8,000 Starbucks stores throughout the U.S. while supplies last.

“Visit Starbucks.com to find your closest location and join us in giving back during the holiday season. Not all stores will carry the gift card, so be sure to call ahead to find out if they are available at your local Starbucks. Check out AllWithinMyHands.org for additional information about our foundation and the charity partners we support.”

In case you're wondering what Metallica's foundation, All Within My Hands, is about, here is an explainer:

“All Within My Hands Foundation is dedicated to creating sustainable communities by supporting workforce education, the fight against hunger, and other critical local services.”

“In February of 2017, we announced the formation of All Within My Hands. The foundation aims to assist and enrich the lives of members of the communities who have supported the band for years, as well as encourage participation from fans and friends. All funds raised will be donated to a cross-section of national and local charities… every penny from your donations will go directly to our charity partners.”

So, if you want to buy a metalhead some coffee or a Spotify subscription for the holidays, this seems like a great way to do it.
