MC5 Announces Tour With SOUNDGARDEN, FUGAZI & KING'S X Members

Plus Wayne Kramer, obviously.

Plus Wayne Kramer, obviously.

MC5 will be doing a reunion of sorts this year for one tour where they'll play their classic 1969 album Kick Out The Jams in full. MC5 will consist of original guitarist and vocalist Wayne Kramer, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, King’s X bassist Dug Pinnick, and Zen Guerrilla frontman Marcus Durant. The lineup will also include drummer Dennis Thompson on select dates. Thompson is the band's longtime drummer and played on Kick Out The Jams.

MC5 was a band from 1964 to 1972, again in 1992, and once more from 2003 to 2012. The band only had three records, and you'll hear some stuff from High Time and Back In The USA as encores at the shows too!

In addition to the shows, Kramer is publishing his memoir titled The Hard Stuff: Dope, Crime, the MC5, and My Life of Impossibilities on August 14 via De Capo Press. The book can be pre-ordered below and you can grab the band's touring schedule below.
