MARTY FRIEDMAN Becomes Japan's Global Culture Ambassador

He's huge in Japan! Literally.

He's huge in Japan! Literally.

Marty Friedman's post-Megadeth career could not be more lucrative, though the rest of the world probably has no idea about it. Friedman has become a supermassive rock star in Japan, has released several albums in the country between 2006 and 2012, and has been a huge part of Japanese television for quite some time.

Friedman only recently reared his head once more in the United States with his 2014 album Inferno (and upcoming album), though now Friedman has a good reason to be connected with the rest of the world – Japan has named him their ambassador of culture!

Friedman was inaugurated late last week, and will be the ambassador at the 2020 olympics in Tokyo. So I guess Friedman really is big in Japan, huh?
