KORN Frontman Ready To Play Controversial Song "Daddy" on 20th Anniversary Tour

The band will be playing their entire debut album on their upcoming tour with Slipknot.

It's been 20 years since Korn dropped their debut self-titled record on the world. In celebration of that, the band will be playing a lot of songs from the record on their upcoming tour with Slipknot and even performing the whole damn thing at festivals. While some of the songs have never been performed live, the hardly-ever performed song "Daddy" is one of concern for frontman Jonathan Davis.

The song deals lyrically with Davis being sexually abused by a family friend as a child and his parents not believing him, so obviously not an easy one to belt out to a crowd. Davis commented on performing the song to Alternative Press.

"It’s been 20 years. I’ve come to grips with what’s happened to me, and everything else. You know what? Fuck it. I’m gonna play it. Yeah, it is what it is, but I’m a lot more mature than I was when I was back doing that record in the beginning. I need to do it for the fans, too. It’s going to be a bit bittersweet because, for one, it was our first record. We had a blast making it and we were on top of the world. The bitter part of it; We were all so fucked up. I think what it will do is remind us of how fucked up we were, but also remind us how much fun we had. I think it’ll be really special for all the fans who were there in 1994 and bought that album and listened to it young, and have listened to that record for 20 years. It’s going to be really special, because some of those songs have never been played live. 'Daddy' has only been played live twice, and some others never, so I think it’ll be pretty cool."

It'll be interesting to see if Davis has anything to say to the crowd before they perform the song or anything like that. Sure, it's been a very extended period of time, but things like that isn't exactly something you can just forget about and move on with your life. An intimate moment between Davis and his fans for sure!
