KILLSWITCH ENGAGE Is Considering Touring Hiatus, Putting Out More Albums

Also, no Howard Jones reunion (probably).

Also, no Howard Jones reunion (probably).

Killswitch Engage bassist Mike D'Antonio recently sat down with the Mike James Rock Show and discusses Killswitch Engage's career thus far. He then takes the conversation in an interesting direction, saying that Killswitch Engage is considering touring less in favor of putting out more music.

D'Antonio says the band is really excited to hit the road with Anthrax next spring, and afterward will definitely be writing some new music.

"We are thinking that we've toured our butts off and it might be time for a rest, and maybe doing less touring and more albums might be the way to go for us. That's our mindset right now."

So maybe a new album after the tour, and then even more music after that? Or maybe Killswitch just wants to stockpile new jams during longer periods of rest, so it's not the constant write, record, release, tour cycle.

He also touches on a possible reunion tour with vocalist Howard Jones, which doesn't seem likely.

"We could, but whether we want to or not is a different story. There's no real reason to be mean or nasty or throw people through the mud. Things didn't work out. That's the way life is. We're not mean guys. It's just the natural way of things to still be friends with somebody. You're not going to cut that off because things didn't work out on the business side of your relationship."

The first statement was a bit of an interesting surprise, but the Howard Jones thing? Not so much.
