Aside from killing it in the sales of beer and getting a doctorate, Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson has heavily invested in an amazing aircraft that will be used mainly for humanitarian aid (for now anyway) accord to BBC News.
Aptly named Airlander, but officially the Hybrid Air Vehicle (HAV), the plane can stay in the air for three weeks, disperses little noise pollution and does not require a runway to take off or land. Basically the plane is a huge success in the field of aeronautics and is every pilot's wet dream.
No word on how much Dickinson actually invested, but the site does say he's one of the bigger investors in the project (paraphrasing, of course). This isn't a huge shock given Dickinson is a pilot himself.How cool is this? Bruce Dickinson- metal legend, beer master and humanitarian. Dickinson should just take the throne from the queen when she's gone at this rate.
