Parkway Drive, Beartooth, and Asking Alexandria also took home some awards.

The Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards were handed out on June 13. We could sit here and argue over who should've won what award, and why wasn't this band picked over that band, but in the end it's just another award ceremony that gets a bunch of band's names out there that you might not have previously checked out. Which is kind of the whole point, isn't it?

Some of the highlights include Iron Maiden's Book Of Souls deemed the best album, Triple H given the Spirit of Hammer Aware (by Dave Mustaine), Enslaved voted as the best "underground" band, Babymetal voted as the greatest band of all time and better than whatever stupid band you like (I made that up), a really emotional speech by Joey Jordison, who was named The Golden God, and a whole bunch more.
