Since 2006, Insomnium has released a new record every 3 years. Fortunately all of those records have been perfect in every way imaginable, but wouldn't it be great if we got them quicker? Well, considering Shadows of the Dying Sun came out in 2014 and the band took to Facebook this morning to say "Alright, it seems that we've booked some studios…" I'd say we're likely in for a new record this year!
There's also this mysterious picture the band posted a few days ago. No word on if its artwork for the new stuff, or it's just a picture they liked, but considering the proximity between that post and this announcement, I'd venture to say it has something to do with the new music.
