Stoner metal legends High on Fire were reportedly in the studio for a "couple of days," according to Kurt Ballou. Is it time for a new High on Fire record?
Kurt Ballou posted the above picture on his Facebook page along with the caption:
"I just got back from a couple days of riffs, tacos, and coffee in Oakland with the almighty High On Fire."
The album title that contains the picture is "High On Fire recording August 2013," but it's only August 17… and Kurt is back home already? Either they're recording something pretty short, or Matt Pike and the crew had the new material down to a science and knocked it all out in a really short amount of time. So I guess we'll be getting some new High on Fire come late 2013 or early 2014! I was a pretty big fan of De Vermis Mysteriis, so if the new stuff is anything like that in terms of musical direction then I'm all for it.
