It's Just Business

Help Fund The Creation Of A U.S.-Based Vinyl Plant/Record Label!

Ex-Metal blade Records employee Jonny Dee is seeking to raise $250,000 to begin a vinyl-plant-slash-record-label, Two Barnacles On a Battleship, LLC, and it sounds pretty awesome.

Dee says his goal is ultimately to open a state-of-the-art record plant in Oregon, "and then funnel 25% of the proceeds into a double record label, with an imprint that releases rare, out of print, or previously unreleased recordings, alongside a label where the artist and label split profits evenly in an effort to foster higher quality albums."

So sure, having the vinyl plant in the U.S. will definitely help with the absolutely insane and meteoric rise of vinyl record sales in the United States, but the imprint and record label bits sound just as awesome!

Check out Dee's video below, as well as some of his plans, and contribute here.

The first three full length compilations series will see release within 6 months and are as follows:

Boogie Van Barbarians: Volume One which collects rarities from the 70's underground rock scene.

Bourbon and Bad Decisions: Volume One which focuses on outlaw country of the 60's through the 80's.

New Orleans Legends (name will change) focuses on unreleased material from several New Orleans legends, recordings from the 1950's through the mid 60's.

Labels and Bands take note; I don't print Jackets, so if you donate on a level that gets you a pressing run, you will need to have your jackets sent to me, and I will have them assembled and prepared for retail before they ship out.

Thank you all so much for taking time out of your day to look at this. Have a beautiful day!
