It feels weird to be writing about the upcoming Gwar-B-Q this year knowing that Oderus won't be there, but here we are.
The event will be held like always at Hadad's Lake, 7900 Osborne Turnpike Richmond, VA. Kicking off the event will be a special memorial service-type thing in honor of the late Dave Brockie from 4 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 15 where fans can pay their respects to the man. Then, as I'm sure he'd have wanted, the outer flesh of Oderus Urungus will be burnt in an viking funeral pyre on the lake. Fuckin' metal.
Then of course, music! So far the event will be played by Hatebreed, Kepone, Meatmen, Dutch Hercules, Tesco Vee and Body Count. What a weirdly awesome lineup this is. Check out the commercial for it below, which is sadly the last we'll ever see of Brockie…
