What If Rock Music Were A Subway Map?

A little over a year ago, I posted a flow chart of heavy metal band names but I think this map is even more impressive. Some dude on Flickr made an entire subway map breaking down the history of rock music. It's quite epic. Click on the image to enlarge it.

This is amazing!! This reminds me of an idea I had a while back which was similar but more of a family tree sort of design and using genres and sub-genres rather than individual bands.

I'd like to post a link to this on my website, if that's okay. (it's http://www.ravengarcia.com)

  3. Why are Metallica under pop rockstars when Poison, Ozzy, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, etc., are not? I mean. Metallica being under pop would make sense if all those bands were….. but they aren't so I don't really see the logic.
