SLIPKNOT's Corey Taylor Blasts MAROON 5's Adam Levine For Insulting Rock Music: "Tell That Schmuck To Go Back To The Fucking Voice"
Today, in a juicy edition of What does Corey Taylor think? we have Taylor not taking any guff from anybody trying to besmirch the name of rock music.
In a recent interview with Variety, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine didn't have much nice to say about rock music, noting:
“Something unique to this band is that we have always looked to hip-hop, R&B, all rhythmic forms of music, from back when we were writing our first album to now. Rock music is nowhere, really. I don’t know where it is. If it’s around, no one’s invited me to the party. All of the innovation and the incredible things happening in music are in hip-hop. It’s better than everything else. Hip-hop is weird and avant-garde and flawed and real, and that’s why people love it.”
Who is still calling Maroon 5 a rock band? They are not anywhere near rock, nor have they been for most of their career, and even then they were still considered pop.
Regardless, current rock ambassador Corey Taylor was not going to allow Levine to talk this way about his beloved genre. When alerted by a fan of Levine's comments, Taylor wrote:
Just because you claim to have ‘Moves Like Jagger’ doesn’t mean you come anywhere CLOSE to ROCKING like Jagger. Tell that schmuck to go back to The fucking ‘Voice’ 🙄🖕
We love you Corey, never stop telling us what you think!
