EXODUS Guitarist Gary Holt Has About A Year's Worth Of New Material
Exodus has slowly been working on a new album, their first since Blood In Blood Out in 2014, but has not yet committed to hitting the studio. The main reason for the delay is that guitarist Gary Holt is filling in with Slayer on their farewell tour, which right now is going through at least July 2019.
Despite his commitments, Holt tells Loudwire that he's sitting on about a year's worth of new material and working with drummer Tom Hunting on putting it all together when he can.
"I've been writing new Exodus material for, like, months now — for, like, close to a year now — and we've got a massive fucking catalog of riffs and songs. And Tom Hunting and I are just getting together when I'm home and we're just working on new stuff and taking our time. We're not in any hurry. We're gonna make sure it's a fucking earthshaking moment when the album's done."
This will also be Exodus' second album with vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza back in the mix for the first time since 2004's Tempo Of The Damned.
