Don't Expect A New ARCH ENEMY Record Until 2017

With Jeff Loomis! Hopefully.

With Jeff Loomis! Hopefully.

Hearing about upcoming records is exciting. Everyone gets to speculate, everyone gets excited when a new single comes out and when release day hits we all pretty much go nuts and throw money at our screens (or local record shop). You know who we won't be doing that with in 2016? Arch Enemy.

According to guitarist Michael Amott in a recent radio interview, the band is planning on writing and recording in 2016 but will largely go out and do a lot of touring.

"I think we're probably gonna write and record something next year, so it'll probably be 2017 when we put out a new record, realistically. We're a very fortunate band. We have a worldwide fanbase where we can go out and tour for two years, pretty much, all around the world successfully when we put out a new album. So it's a big job. It takes us a while to get around the world and play to everybody that wants to see us. So it takes time between albums."

Amott also seems really hopeful that current guitarist Jeff Loomis will be on board with the next record. Emphasis on the word "hopeful."

"I hope so. That's what we're talking about. That's what we both want. So let's see. That's what we want. But, you know, it's still a ways away. We're gonna do that next year. But hopefully that's what's gonna happen. That's what we want."

Loomis and Arch Enemy would make a hell of a combination on record. Here's hoping Jeff sticks around long enough for at least one album with the group!
