DIO has cancer!

dio OH NOES!! Metal legend Ronnie James Dio has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. Speaking to Blabbermouth, his wife and manager Wendy Dio issued the following statement:

"Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.

"Long live rock and roll, long live Ronnie James Dio.

"Thanks to all the friends and fans, from all over the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up."

This is certainly a huge bummer! Our thoughts are with the Dio family. You've slayed dragons and wizards, Dio…a little cancer is petty bullshit. You show that cancer who's boss!

Saddening, never been a big Dio music fan but what a great human being he is. The Mayo Clinic is one of the best med groups in the US, Dio is in good hands.
