We've been following the tragic Chi Cheng story for a while now. The Deftones bassist was left in a comatose state after a tragic accident in 2008. Today, there is an uplifting addition to the story. During the Sacramento stop of their current tour promoting their upcoming album, Koi No Yokan, out November 13th (hear a new song), the band invited Chi's son, Gabriel onstage for a little jam. Gabriel crushed it on bass for the track "Root" and get a tremendous amount of support from the crowd in attendance. He did a killer job. Of course, there is video:
