DARKEST HOUR To Hit The Studio With CONVERGE's Kurt Ballou

So basically it'll be heavy, though it might not be out this year.

Darkest Hour asked for $50,000 to make a new record and got somewhere in the ballpark of $70,000. Now that money is going to good use, as the band plans to hit up GodCity Studio in Massachusetts with Converge's Kurt Ballou at the helm. Essentially, this ensures the new Darkest Hour record is going to be crunchy as fuck and likely heavy to the extreme.

Here's what the band had to say about the producer choice via Facebook.

For this album, we really want to focus on our playing. We want to bring the energetic and raw emotion we exude live to tape. We love to jam / riff all day, and Kurt's unique style of producing will compliment this perfectly. Also, it doesn't hurt that we completely respect and trust him both as a friend and a musician – meaning this monumental task of bringing another darkest hour album to life will rest well in his hands.

The press release states the band also plans to be in the studio until October, so I wouldn't get my hopes up that this record will drop in 2016.
