Ex-Fates Warning vocalist John Arch quit after the band's 1986 album Awaken The Guardian and wouldn't collaborate again with guitarist Jim Matheos until Arch's solo album A Twist Of Fate in 2003. Then the duo got together under the name Arch/Matheos and did an album called Sympathetic Resonance in 2011, and it was so, so good. Now we're getting another one.

Arch/Matheos has announced they're re-signed with Metal Blade and will release a new album in 2019. The band is currently tracking with Jens Bogren (Fates Warning, Opeth, Devin Townsend) and will feature such guests as Cynic bassist Sean Malone and drummer Matt Lynch, drummer Thomas Lang, Fates Warning drummer Bobby Jarzombek and bassist Joey Vera, and ex-Fates Warning members guitarist Frank Aresti and drummer Mark Zonder.

So get stoked.
