CHELSEA GRIN's New Song "Never, Forever" Isn't A Breakdown-Fest

As a matter of fact, this song is halfway decent.

It's not exactly a secret that I have not enjoyed the last two Chelsea Grin songs at all, but we'll put those behind us for a moment so I can say the following – "Never, Forever" is actually a step in the right direction. The song has a pretty memorable melody, the instrumentation is interesting enough, and I feel like if the song writing progressed a little more on this one it would actually be pretty damn good.  Maybe another section or two in the first half and cut out the cookie-cutter breakdown nonsense at the end, y'know?

I'm not out to shit on Chelsea Grin, and this is proof that the group is capable or writing potentially solid material. You can pre-order the band's new album Self-Inflicted, out July 1, right here.
