CATTLE DECAPITATION Bassist Quits The Band After Eight Years

He's got some new stuff he's working on.

After eight years and two albums with Cattle Decapitation, bassist Derek Engemann has announced he's leaving to pursue other endeavors. Engemann says he's split with the band on good terms, will still be playing with Scour, and also has a new project called Cast The Stone that he'll be announcing soon.

"It's been a great journey, but I'm writing to let everyone know I have amicably parted ways with Cattle Decapitation. I'm very proud of the success we achieved together across the last two albums. In turn, I'm excited to focus my energy on the next upcoming Scour release, my reignited project Cast the Stone (huge news in the coming days), and the other big plans I have in the works. Thank you to everyone for the support, and I'll see you at NAMM!"

Cattle Decapitation has shows coming up in February and March, so I'd assume they'll announce at least a live replacement pretty good. Of course, we wish both the band and Engemann the best of luck with their coming artist pursuits!
