CANNIBAL CORPSE's Corpsegrinder Takes Shelter In An Elementary School During Hurricane Irma

"It's just not worth the risk. I hope anyone who needed to did the same."

Hurricane Irma is affecting the lives of many people in the south east right now. Earlier today, we learned that Trivium frontman Matt Heafy, who is based in Orlando, Florida, decided to ride the storm out in his house and provided some live updates, which ultimately amounted to a power outage and some clean up required outside of his house.

Cannibal Corpse frontman George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, who lives in the Tampa area, decided to be extra cautious and not risk being in the eye of the storm. Tampa was at much higher risk than Orlando, so he decided to take shelter at a local elementary school, Double Branch Elementary School, just 25 miles outside of downtown Tampa. Fisher advised everybody be as safe as possible in such a frightening situation: "We decided to weather the Hurricane at a shelter. It's just not worth the risk. I hope anyone who needed to did the same. Stay safe everyone in Florida!"

Fisher managed to lighten the mood at the end of the post by signing it "Your friend, The Thumb," making light of a Chris Jericho joke, which Fisher enjoyed, saying he looks like a human thumb. Fisher, a noted pro wrestling fan, was taking the time to add a little levity to a very serious situation and for that we are thankful.
