BRING ME THE HORIZON Frontman: "Everyone Should Do Drugs At Some Point In Their Life"

"You shouldn’t go through your life without experiencing acid, in my opinion."

Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes has had long documented battles with drug addiction, namely ketamine (cat tranquilizer). While at one point suicidal, Sykes is clean and sober now but he still calls his drug addiction and the whirlwind that followed "an adventure."

And, to double down on this, in a new interview with Metal Hammer, he shows little regret for sampling drugs and encourages others to try:

“I don’t regret taking drugs – and I don’t know if I should say it, but everyone should do drugs at some point in their life.

“You shouldn’t go through your life without experiencing acid, in my opinion. It used to be fun, it used to be an adventure. That’s why I did all those drugs.”

He admits: “After a while it stops being awesome, and that’s the reality. But it’s a hard reality to accept.”

I will admit, I am a total stoner but at the same time I hate when people suggest to others things they should do. Some people feel they don't need drugs to have a good time and who am I to judge them? Plus, it means more drugs for me. I have plenty of straight edge friends who can party just fine without booze or drugs while the rest of us are getting wrecked. While I don't necessarily disagree with the statement, I feel somebody at his level of fame and with the amount of kids that look up to him should be a bit more careful with his words, but I doubt he gives a shit.

As he mentioned, everything is not the worst for you in moderation, but once you do it all the time, it not only stops being fun but it becomes a problem. I have a few personal examples of friends who did acid recreationally very, very often in high school and are completely fried in their 30s. Stick to the natural stuff, I say!
