Guitarist Ben Orum Quits ALL SHALL PERISH

Ben Orum, one of the primary songwriters for All Shall Perish has left the building, ladies and gentlemen. He and the band have parted ways, amicably due to scheduling conflicts. While Orum wasn't touring with the band regularly for quite a while, he was a primary creative force when it came to writing. Here is the statement the band released:

You might have noticed that one of our founding members and brother, Ben Orum, has not been on the last few tours the band has done. It is with great sadness that we bring to you the news that he will be leaving ALL SHALL PERISH. Below is a statement from Ben regarding his departure.

"I have given over 10 years of my blood, sweat, and tears to pursuing my dream which you all have helped fulfill. Being in All Shall Perish has been the best experience in my life, outside of being a father. While I am deeply saddened by my decision to leave the band it is necessary at this point in my life. As you know I have a family and obligation to provide for them and be here. Unfortunately, I could not fulfill my duty as a touring musician any longer.

While I am done with touring, I will never stop writing music. I am joining the extreme metal band OBLIVION as a bassist and contributing songwriter. OBLIVION's debut album will be released on January 1st, 2013. We are beyond excited to unleash it onto the metal world. I've always been into death metal and extreme music, this is my return to TRUE Death Metal.

I would like to thank all of the fans for the love and support over the last 10 years. I would also like to give a big THANK YOU to Gerardo and Nuclear Blast Records for always believe in my music.

Stay in touch, you know where to find me!

Ben Orum "

We wish the best to Ben and his beautiful family as he moves on to a new chapter in his life. Taking his place on rhythm guitar for the In Flames tour will be ROB MARAMONTE from Bay Area band FALLUJAH.

I am certainly curious to hear what the band's new material will sound like without Orum's presence. I will also certainly be following his new project, Oblivion. We reached out to Ben for some additional comment and hope to have a follow up to this story posted tomorrow.

"Not happening, bro. Sorry. I tried really hard but it takes a whole band to want it."
