CROWBAR And Bassist Jeff Golden Part Ways, Band Regains Original Bassist

Sexy T. back in the band!

Sexy T. back in the band!

It's not 100% clear exactly what happened here, but I'm willing to bet that the split between Crowbar and bassist Jeff Golden wasn't exactly the most mutual of decisions. According to the band via Facebook, "things don't always work out."

As many of you may have heard, we have parted ways with Jeff Golden, and he is no longer our bassist. Being in a band is like being in a relationship and things don't always work out. We want to thank Jeff for his dedication and loyalty and we sincerely wish him and his family all the best in the future.

Kirk

Golden was the bassist for the group between 2013 and 2016, and replaced Down bassist Patrick Bruders, who was the bassist from 2005 to 2013. Crowbar has been in and out of the studio throughout 2016, so who knows how much Golden contributed to the new record or if he even contributed at all and this parting of ways was a forgone conclusion.

Either way, the brief post from Crowbar doesn't sound like it was a very friendly split… and while that sucks, everyone welcome back bassist Todd Strange! Strange was with the group from 1990 to 2000 and played on everything from the band's debut record Obedience Thru Suffering up to Equilibrium.
