BLOODBATH (KATATONIA, PARADISE LOST, Etc.) To Hit The Studio In Late January

Plus Opeth's drummer!

Bloodbath fans had to wait six long years between 2008's The Fathomless Mastery and 2014's Grand Morbid Funeral, but now it seems like four years is the cap on waiting this time around. Bloodbath and Paradise Lost vocalist Nick Holmes has told Metal Wani that the band is working on a new album right now, and they hope to hit the studio in either January or February 2018.

This will be Bloodbath's second album with Holmes after the second departure of Opeth vocalist Mikael Åkerfeldt in 2012.

"The [rest of the] guys are working on it now, so I think we're looking at recording in the end of January. We're looking at doing it maybe early February. So, yeah, we'll definitely do another album. But we'll see what happens. The guys in Katatonia have been busy touring as well, so they're pretty much winding up now — I think they're playing Russia next week and then they're finished for the year. So, yeah, at the end of January, I think, we're gonna start now."

If you're not familiar, Bloodbath is Holmes on vocals, Katatonia's vocalist Jonas Renkse on bass and guitarist Anders "Blakkheim" Nyström on guitars, as well as Opeth drummer Martin Axenrot. In the meantime, look out for a split between Bloodbath and Autopsy to be out a little later this month and don't forget to catch Bloodbath on tour.
