BLACK SABBATH Riff Lord Tony Iommi's Throat Lump Wasn't Cancerous, Remains Cancer Free

He found out on Christmas, which is probably the best present he could've gotten.

Last month, Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi said once he was off tour, he'd have to go have a lump in his throat checked out. Iommi's cancer was declared in remission in mid 2016, so the lump was definitely worrisome in terms of it being a possible metastases.

Fortunately, Iommi tells Planet Rock that the lump turned out not to be cancerous, though now he has developed a fear of death of stairs.

"Well, I had the treatment when I got back from South America. I went in for the throat [operation]. They found a lump at the back of my sinus, in the throat, and we had to have it checked in case it may have been cancerous. But it turns out it wasn't, which I found out Christmas Day, which is brilliant. So far [I'm all good]. I daren't say that. I'll probably fall down the stairs now."

Man, good news for Iommi all around this week, huh? First his killer commissioned piece for the Birmingham Cathedral, and now he's got a seriously huge health-related weight off his shoulders!
