Metal Injection

Now that the new year is here, it's officially summer festival speculation season. All the big fests typically announce their routings in the first quarter of the year, so this is about the time when deals are being finalized.

Which is why I want to send a hearty thank you, Orion, for giving us bloggers a clue, but surely your management must not be pleased at your recent summer touring revelation. The Behemoth bassist was recently interviewed by Metal Storm where he revealed the band's summer touring plans: 

“…I don’t think it is confirmed yet but we are coming back to the States this summer to play on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival. This will be the very first thing we will do before the new record comes out. After that we plan on doing some other festivals, but they are not confirmed yet neither. We have done quite a few European festivals this year [2012] and I am not sure if it would be the best thing to do before the album comes out.”

This makes me think that both the band and the label and the fest want this to happen and they are just finalizing details. This will be Behemoth's second time doing Mayhem, with the first being in 2009.

The band are also in the process of working on a new album. Last we heard, they were shopping for producers, but with a huge summer festival in the books, we have to think the band will spend the first half of the year working on new material to promote on Mayhem this summer.
