It's not exactly a secret that Babymetal is a fan of Metallica at this point. The band wants to learn metal from the group that arguably broke the genre into the mainstream in a huge way during the 1980s, but now we've learned Babymetal's true plans all along… the group just wants to teach Metallica how to dance!
In a recent interview with NME, which you can watch below, member of Babymetal Moametal says (in English) that "I would like to teach Metallica our dance moves, just because we've learned so much from them about metal." Su-Metal then follows that up by mentioning that "we learned about metal, but also by watching Metallica performances, we have learned how to interact with the fans. We have learned all of that from just watching Metallica."
So there you have it. Metallica has taught Babymetal how to be metal whether they know it or not, and Babymetal wants to repay them by teaching them their sweet dance moves! Seems like a fair exchange.
