As Blood Runs Black got called out last week for not delivering on perks from their $25,000+ crowd funding effort to release their new album Ground Zero this year. While the band issued an extremely brief response then, they've taken the time to formulate something a little lengthier for us via their Facebook…
The statement starts off well enough, immediately calling out blogs like us for blowing things out of proportion… except we just posted up what fans said and took an objective look at the situation, but whatever.
"Consider the source…. Understand there are a lot of people out there who don't want us to continue as a band and are trying to shut us down."
Untrue. I could give a shit less if As Blood Runs Black releases thirteen more records or ceases to exist ten minutes from right now.
"This is the 2nd time online media blogs had their poke at us and blew things out of proportion. We been on the road since Oct 23rd with the impression things would be taken care of through a third party we mistakenly trusted. We learned about the mishap when you guys did while on tour. Some people got their perks and some didn't. We are working on figuring out the root cause of the this mishap the best we can from the road. If you haven't received your perk e-mail [email protected] with your receipt and "Perk Follow Up" in the subject line and we'll get you taken care of."
They're obviously trying to solve the issue best they can, but at the same time these perks are basically an item (or items) someone ordered from the group. If I ordered something from a band via their webshop and the due date came and went without my item or any kind of email regarding the situation, I'd be a little pissed off too. As Blood Runs Black totally has the onus put on them to make damn sure everything goes well with these kinda of things! Touring, recording, being launched into space- whatever the situation is you have an obligation to keep things in order.
The band also posted a video of a fan performing with the band, as per his perk from the campaign.
