Army Vet Who Killed Six In Sikh Temple Fronted White Power, Metal Band

Metal is supposed bring people together, not tear them apart. Meet Wade Page. Page is an Army vet and he plays in a band. Page also killed six people and wounded three others when he pulled out his 9-millimeter semiautomatic handgun and fired it in a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wis. Page was shot and killed by an officer after attempting to flee the temple.

While no "cause" has been released, it's easy to connect the dots. Page's band, End Apathy describe the themes of their music as “how the value of human life has been degraded by tyranny.” Their MySpace page, which has now been removed (still available via Google cache) describes the music as " is a sad commentary on our sick society and the problems that prevent true progress."

The two major outlets covering the story, Washington Post and New York Times both make note of his music and his affiliation to white power groups. Thankfully, they are not blaming the metal genre as a whole, but is it only a matter of time?
