ANTHRAX Enlist Members Of DEATH ANGEL & Gene Hoglan To Fill In Due To Sickness
- Posted by RobInjection on February 1, 2012
Things haven't been peachy for the members of Anthrax. While on the second leg of their tour with Testament and Death Angel, some ailments have threw a wrench in the band's touring plans.
First, drummer Charlie Benante's mother had fallen terminally ill and he, understandably decided to leave the tour to be with her. They got Gene Hoglan, who was already on the tour with Testament to step in and fill Charlie's shoes and play the drums. Then, Scott Ian got sick with a severe viral infection and couldn't play and the band didn't know what to do. Luckily, the two Death Angel guitarists just so happen to be huge 'thrax fans and willingly stepped in. Testament guitarists Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson also stepped in to lend a helping hand. It goes to show that in metal, the show must go on. The Death Angel guys created a video diary chronicling some of the events. Watch it after the jump:
