Al Jourgensen Says MINISTRY Will Do One More Record And "See Where It Goes From There"

So… is this the end of Ministry?

So... is this the end of Ministry?

Ministry just put out AmeriKKKant in March, and despite heavily being out on the road in support of the album, they're already working on a brand new one. Ministry frontman and mastermind Al Jourgensen recently spoke to Full Metal Jackie about everything from recording a new live album this year to a potential Revolting Cocks reunion, as well as the new Ministry album he's working on.

Interestingly, Jourgensen ends his segment about new material by saying the band is "going to do one more Ministry record and see where it goes from there." So is this next record maybe the last one?

Well we just started doing our research and development for the new Ministry album, as yet untitled. We just got our studio up and running. The way I do a Ministry album is that the first month or so was all gathering samples, gathering loops, gathering interesting ideas then formulating it all into a cohesive manner later. Right now we are just in the hunters and gatherers stage. We have actually started that. I am pretty excited. We are going to do one more Ministry record and see where it goes from there.

It's also worth noting that Ministry has broken up twice in the past – in 2008 only to reunite in 2011, and then in 2013 after the death of guitarist Mike Scaccia only to reunite in 2014. Possible breakups and new albums aside, Ministry is hitting the road in November with Carpenter Brut and Alien Weaponry.
