This year, 2017, marks the 13th anniversary of the launch of Metal Injection. What a whirlwind. In what has become an annual tradition, at the beginning of every year, we like to make ourselves feel old, by doing a quick run through of all the seminal albums that came out a decade ago.

With every passing year, I feel older and older as it truly does feel like yesterday that some of these albums came out. Without further ado, here are 31 albums celebrating their tenth anniversary in 2016. The albums are listed in alphabetical order.

Holy shit! 10 years! I remember having the Divine Heresy, TTEOTD, and the JFAC album on constant play back then. Also as a lifelong KoRn fan of course their album/s were on constant play.

The funny thing is that through listening to TTEOTD and JFAC is how I discovered the greaters of Black Dahlia, All Shall Perish and The Acacia Strain. Just a pivotal point in my musical journey.

just because of the time period just getting into college and seriously starting to play guitar, I think that BTBAMs colors will always be my favorite metal album of all time.

Colors from Between the Buried and Me is an instant metal classic. But, there are a few others that aren't on this list, and should be:

Watain – Sworn to the Dark
Deathspell Omega – Fas – Ite, Maledicti, in Ignem Aeternum (Named Album of the year on my radio show at the time)
    Behemoth – The Apostasy
    Dodheimsgard – Supervillain Outcast
    Shining (Sweden) – V – Halmstad
    Mayhem – Ordo ad Chao

    • GoatForest

Damn. Those are some pretty glaring omissions.

  • Shakes 999

    1) I feel old
2)Despite having 2 of the best songs in their whole catalogue, Ire Works is Dillingers worst album

How the fuck could you forget The Last Kind Words by Devildriver?

  • GoatForest

It cannot be overstated how much I love Naglfar's Harvest. I want have its babies.
