Ozzy Sues AEG For Allegedly Blackmailing Him Into Performing At The Staples Center In LA

"Shame on AEG for bringing artists into a power struggle that you're having with your competition, Live Nation."

"Shame on AEG for bringing artists into a power struggle that you're having with your competition, Live Nation."

Ozzy Osbourne will embark on his No More Tours 2 tour beginning this May and the dates just keep coming. Ozzy is scheduled to play the O2 Arena in London on one of the legs of the tour, but AEG says unless he plays The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, they're not going to let him play the O2 Arena.

Ozzy has now turned around and filed a lawsuit against AEG, saying he feels as though this decision is in violation of antitrust laws.

TMZ reports that according to his agreement with AEG, if he performs anywhere within a 25 mile radius of Los Angeles, he must perform at The Staples Center. This also ruins Osbourne's alleged plan to have a bidding war between The Staples Center and The Forum for one of his performances, considering The Forum is in Inglewood, California (within 25 miles of LA).

Sharon Osbourne also calls bullshit on the clause, saying "Shame on AEG for bringing artists into a power struggle that you're having with your competition, Live Nation." The one thing that does make me personally laugh here is that the Osbournes are effectively suing so they can make more money and not AEG. Which I get – you gotta line your own pockets, but still, a contract is a contract and business is buisness.
