Metal Injection

Earache is proving they're all about modern times. They recently launched a $160 USB stick that had their entire discography on it and now are getting in on the Spotify love with a new app that generates playlists based on your sub-genre desires.

The Spotify app is called "Metalizer" and it gives you toggles so you can choose just how much metal, thrash metal and grind you want to hear in the playlist.

In a smart strategic move, the playlists don't just include Earache artists, but they are certainly sprinkled in there. I toyed around with the controls and it seems like an adequate way to launch a quick "radio station" without having to worry about what comes up next, and sometimes you get to be surprised and turned onto something you haven't heard before.

Ultimately, I am onboard with any service that makes metal discovery easy. Take the Metalizer for a spin and let us know what you think.
