Did AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK Rip Off Their Fans? It Certainly Looks Like It!

Smooth as sandpaper, guys.

Smooth as sandpaper, guys.

Back in 2013, As Blood Runs Black were asking for $50,000 to make a new record. They received about half of that and made their record Ground Zero anyway, despite kind of breaking up in the process. The album dropped on October 27 and everyone lived happily ever after! Wait, they didn't? Oh shit.

MetalSucks points out that the minimum you could donate during the funding process was $10. That amount got you a digital version of the album a week before it came out, which means everyone that donated should have gotten a download on October 20. If you saunter over to the band's Facebook page all casual-like, you'll notice that all of the 588 contributors are rightfully up in arms because they're lacking what they paid for.

Oh, and the more expensive perks include things like signed posters, drum sticks, the physical copy of the album, stickers and stuff like that. I'll let you take a guess at where all those things are currently despite being estimated to ship last year. Here are some hints from fans leaving comments on the band's Facebook page:

Obviously they couldn't have shipped an album that wasn't out yet, but maybe at least get some of the stuff out and let fans know they'll get the CD when it comes out? Or issue an email letting everyone know what's up.

The band had this to say…

Starting off an apology with pointing fingers isn't the way to go… and then telling fans to take the time out of their day to email you isn't the best way to close it. I think it's on the band to reach out and let people know where things stand, not on the fans to have to badger the band for information.

Nachtmystium As Blood Runs Black, you're being called out! Again!

Cue "they ripped their fans off with shitty music" jokes.
