Thankfully, our collective memories of CBGB can live on forever in the newly announced CBGB restaurant in Newark airport in New Jersey. Wait, what?

The new restaurant was noticed by somebody over at WFMU and Gothamist points out that it's been in the works for a few months now as a "American fare in a fun environment recalling the legendary music venue."

The worst part about this, other than the obscene prices, is they couldn't even take five more minutes to make the menu somehow tie in to the old CBGB aesthetic. Nope, once the venue died, it just became a brand to exploit and that's all it really will be.
