Rob's Funniest Interviews

THE TONY DANZY TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA NEXT TUESDAY MASSACRE

Metal Injection has been going strong for 5 years now. I thought this would be as good a time as any to go back into our archives and pick out my top 5 favorite interviews that I have conducted. In the middle of the week, I'll post a few hilarious band on band interviews. Stay tuned all week for new updates!

I don't even know where to begin. We attended a tour package in the Spring of 2008 which featured THE TONY DANZA TAP DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA, SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY and BENEATH THE MASSACRE all of which made cameos in this interview. Before the interview, I was warned that the lead singer, Jesse was really drunk. The band asked if we could just do a text interview but they didn't realize that being drunk results in great footage. Little did I know that this would be a huge trainwreck. Seriously, its just 11 minutes of randomness.

My favorite thing about this interview was that I mentioned how (the real) Tony Danza actually played the band on his show. I jokingly said that it was the highest rated segment ever on the show. Which they almost believed but was untrue. Then I said somebody should actually edit the Wikipedia entry and reference this interview as the citation and some loyal junkie did just that.

What I remember after the interview ended was the drummer constantly apologizing and begging for a makeup. A few weeks later, we conducted a "re-do" interview at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival. It was a bit more coherent. They weren't drunk this time (or so they said).
