Your First Taste of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's Contribution to the Game of Thrones Mixtape

Winter is coming!

Winter is coming!

We've been eagerly anticipating this new Game of Thrones mixtape, which we previously learned would feature new tracks from Killswitch Engage and Anthrax. Today, we get our first taste of KSE's contribution, a track called "Loyalty: House Martell." (Sidenote: RIP Oberyn). Here's what it sounds like:

Interestingly enough, before being comissioned to do the mixtape, KSE frontman Jesse Leach never even watched Game of Thrones:

“I started doing my research and watching some of the stuff. And while I was writing the song, I didn’t really know what I was talking about. But [the show’s producers] give you a concept, they give you key words that you should use and sort of a give you a storyline. It was fun for me to work in that capacity, cause I’m used to just coming up with stuff on my off the spot. And they had a lot of cool trigger words, so it was interesting to see that come together.”

Leach has since binge-watched all the seasons. Catch The Throne: The Mixtape, Vol. 2 is due sometime in March. The mixtape will also feature contributions from Mastodon and hip hop legends Snoop Dogg, Method Man and Talib Quali.
