WEAR YOUR WOUNDS' (CONVERGE) New Song "Arthritic Heart" Is Plodding And Dissonant

It sounds like a really slow, sad Deathspell Omega at point.

It sounds like a really slow, sad Deathspell Omega at point.

Wear Your Wounds is a project spearheaded by Converge frontman Jacob Bannon, and will be releasing its debut WYW on April 7. Joining Bannon in the studio for the recording of the record was Mike “Gunface” McKenzie of The Red Chord, Adam McGrath of Cave In, Ryan Parker of Supermachiner, and Alex Garcia Rivera of American Nightmare. So basically Wear Your Wounds was destined to be great from the start.

The band/project's new song "Arthritic Heart" is a fine example of how great this project is likely to be. It's a slow song that really captures a somber atmosphere, yet keeps using chords and little riffs that sound like a slow motion version of Deathspell Omega… and that's friggin' fantastic.

Pre-order WYW here.
