Watch METALLICA Perform The National Anthem & Throw The First Pitch At A San Francisco Giants Game

Metallica had a busy few days last week. On Thursday, they were honored at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards and then over the weekend, the band was a part of "Metallica night" at the San Francisco Giants game at AT&T Park, which seems like quite the honor. The band got to perform the national anthem, and Lars got to throw out the first pitch.

Here are James and Kirk shredding "The Star Spangled Banner:"

They did pretty well, I think. I mean, they're no Yngwie, but they'll do.

That wasn't even the challenging part of the night for the band. Lars was dispatched to throw out the first pitch of the game, a task that seems easy enough but can lead to embarrassing results. Thankfully for Lars, he managed to get the ball over the plate…

Metallica are gearing up for Orion Fest next month and the premiere of their 3D movie this fall.
