Last years Virvum full-length, Illuminance, was a smash hit with the progressive death metal and technical death metal crowd, which isn't entirely surprising given the high quality of it and the broad ambitions the band's music explores. It may be a new year, but the band isn't done pumping out playthroughs and other videos in support of last year's release. Which brings us to today's exclusive guitar, bass, and drums playthrough for "The Cypher Supreme", one of my favorite songs on Illuminance.
No doubt it's a fiercely technical song, but it's very tastefully crafted and compactly delivered in a swift run time that flies right by.
