This RINGWORM/BRAIN TENTACLES Covers Split Is A Jazzy, Thrashy Nightmare

I'll let you guess what bands these two cover.

I'll let you guess what bands these two cover.

Ringworm and Brain Tentacles aren't a duo I'd have put together, but hot damn does it work, The group is currently streaming its split below, which you can get via A389 on vinyl or digitally. The split features one new song and a cover of Venom's "Poison," as well as two new songs by Brain Tentacles and a cover of Celtic Frost's "Innocence and Wrath." The covers are all well and good, but the originals are great. Ringworm brings the absolute fucking fury, as usual, while Brain Tentacles manages to stuff jazz and death metal right into your face within just under four minutes.

As for plans for the bands, Ringworm is slated to release a new album titled Snake Church on July 29 via Relapse Records. No word on if Ringworm's contribution to this split will be on the record, though. Then there's Brain Tentacles, the band that consists of drummer Dave Witte (Municipal Waste, ex-Discordance Axis), saxophonist Bruce Lamont (Corrections House, Yakuza, etc.), and bassist Aaron Dallison (Keelhaul), who apparently have some type of record coming up soon enough.
